Weight gain

Weight gain (WG) is a typical parameter measured in animal experiments and husbandry. WG is caclulated by the equation:

WG = (final body weight) – (initial body weight)

WG is sometimes represented as a percentage:

WG (%) = 100 × [(final body weight) – (initial body weight)]/(initial body weight)
