Specific growth rate (SGR) is a typical parameter measured in animal experiments and husbandry. SGR is usually represented with the unit %/day as calculated by the equation:

SGR (%/day) = 100 × [Ln(final body weight) – Ln(initial body weight)]/[Experimental period (days)]
