Cell cycle
The cell cycle is the sequence of events in the life of a cell from one cell division to the next.
The celll cycle is typically divided into four main stages:
- the M phase consisting of mitosis and cytokinesis
- the G1 phase with a high rate of cell growth
- the S phase with the DNA replication event
- the G2 phase for the final preparation for the M phase
