Turner syndrome

Turner syndrome is a genetic disease observed only in females, in which the X chromosome is completely missing.

Symptoms include swollen feet and hands and very low hairlines at the back [3]. Short height, problems with ovary development, heart defects, low set of ears, swollen hands and feet, high blood pressure, diabetes, cataracts, and thyroid and kidney problems are also observed. Most women with Turner Syndrome are infertile.

There is no definitive cure for Turners syndrome, but there are a few treatments to the symptoms: growth hormone treatment [2], assisted reproduction, etc.

Also see other chromosomal diseases: poly-X syndrome, Down syndrome, and Klinefelter syndrome.
