Tris-glycine buffer

Also called Tris-glycine SDS buffer. A typical running buffer of SDS-PAGE.

A typical composition of the running buffer is 25 mM Tris, 192 mM Glycine, 0.1% (w/v) SDS. 10x stock solution is commonly used.

To make 1 L of 10x Tris-glycine buffer, dissolve 30.0 g of Tris, 144.0 g of glycine, and 10.0 g of SDS in distilled water. The pH of the buffer should be 8.3 and there is no need to adjust pH. This stock solution can be stored at room temperature and dilute to 1X before use.
