Stilbene

Stilbene is an organic compound having the condensed structural formula C6H5CH=CHC6H5.

The above structure is called the 1,2-diphenylethylene backbone. Plant secondary metabolites containing the 1,2-diphenylethylene backbone are called stilbenes, comprising a group of flavonoids. Resveratrol is a famous stilbene (3,5,4'-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene).
