Red meat
Red meat generally refers to meat that contains a high amount of myoglobin and thus looks red. Common red meats include beef, pork, mutton, and lamb, while chicken and most fish are called “white meat”.
This definition is often oversimplified, and the contents of myoglobin and other nutrients do not follow the definition of red and white meats [1].
Contents of iron, total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol of red and white meat [1].
