Proanthocyanidin
Proanthocyanidins are oligomers or polymers of flavan-3-ol units. Proanthocyanidins are also called condensed tannins; however, this term is not recommended because "tannin" does not refer to a specific compound.
The major building blocks of proanthocyanidin include, but not limited to, (+)-catechin and (−)-epicatechin.
