Population

Population is a groups of members of a particular species living in a specific area and time period.

Definitions in the literature

all the members of a particular species within a defined area, found in the same time and place and actually or potentially interbreeding [1].
(1) In statistics, the group of interestl often represented by a subset called a sample; (2) A group of members of the same species [2].
A group of organisms of the same species who live in a specific location and breed with one another more often than they breed with members of other populations [3].
