Glomerular filtration rate, GFR

Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is the volume of fluid filtered from the glomerular structure of kidney per unit time.

A normal GFR is 90 mL/min or higher. Decline in estimated GFR is associated with risk of various diseases such as hemorrhagic stroke and renal disease in type 2 diabetes.
